We ended up with an 06 R350. The sticker was 65K and some change and we got it for right at 20K last year. It has been very nice so far, but nothing has broken on it yet.
20k sounds a lot more reasonable. I like that the AMG exists but id never buy it.. Put me in line for an r320 CDI.

the R320 was what I really wanted, but again they have held thier value when compared to everything else. If I rememder correctly they were another 10 to 15K.

^ do you have anything to do with that van? I PM'd the owner on turbododge asking for suspension details but never heard anything back..

Although, pertinent info: race weight is in the 2600s, full cage, non turbo/5spd drivetrain (17 sec 1/4, not fast).

How annoyingly predictable. This is the same reason i havent built a TDI k-car yet. The used diesel motors sell for more than a 10-second GRM Challenge car costs to build.

Nope, I just saw it race at the Portland Chumpcar race a while back....terrified at how well it did.

Our mostly stock Odyssey makes me say impure things.

Where can I find anything more than YouTube videos on that Odyssey? We have that same model and I'd like to make some changes.

And the builder guy posted a bunch of info on the odyclub.com forums. Neat piece for sure... at this point, I'd just be happy if I could lower ours:

A guy on another forum I frequent put a 318 into an Aerostar.

You could always go the TurboDodge route. Better equipment is just a junkyard away.

I've been wondering if one of these newer Chrysler V6s would fit into an older van, because my moms Town&Country isn't what I would call slow. So I just imagine what an older square Awd bucket with the seats pulled could do with one of those motors.

Yes, they fit. They actually fit BETTER because the cowl doesnt cover half the motor. The early engine bays are cavernous (imo).

My 90 2.5 tbi/5spd SWB with no rear benches weighed 3020 on a track scale. The one pictured a few up weighs 26xx lbs WITH a van cage. There's been at least one in the 2400lb region that i know of.

The 3.8 swap into an early van is easy-peesy. They put 3.3 into the 1990 so 3.8 into 84-90 is almost 100% factory swap.
