Rock-auto has both for my car. I have never used either brand for struts. I have used MOOG parts for many things over the years just not struts. The price difference will be about $40 for a set of 4 with the MOOG being the slightly cheaper of the two brands.
Any thoughts / Recommendations. It is more about the quality not the $$$ at this point but if they are equal I will go with the MOOG as $40 in my pocket is not a bad thing.
Moog does not manufacture their own struts, it's just a reboxing. That said, Tenneco (Monroe) makes some of the worst quality struts I've ever had the misfortune to use. Can you get KYB's?
Ebay, gabriel ultras. You will not be disappointed. firmer than stock( but not jarring), and they are gas charged
KYB I can get but adds more than $100 to the bill. Would I be getting that much better a product? I have used KYB in the past with very good results.

I will look at those. I was hoping for complete unit with springs and hats and bearings as an assembled unit. Are these available that way?
Not that ive seen...but then again most of those easy kits ive seen are just a run of the mill, whatever shock. But i recall another thread of yours looking for something to increase the fun factor of your new whip, maybe your plans changed?
Edit: if you're wanting to go with one of those spring/strut/bearing combos and i were you, id get the sensen setup off rockauto. Almost half price the monroe setup and ive heard good things about the sensen as far as cheap struts go, supposedly more firm than stock as well. Or at least more firm that stock clapped out struts haha
I intend to have this car for at least 5 years as daughter #3 will get her license in a year or so and it will eventually end up in her hands
Yes... . . Yes plans changed drastically in the last 12 hours. Like I am sitting here in shock change (for the good) change.

I would pay $100 more for KYB's over Monroe's... per strut.
So yes, definitely worth the money.
PS - I have a set of new Monroe OESpectrum (their absolute top-of-the-line strut) for a Tacoma sitting in my office right now waiting on a labor claim. They made it 10 miles before the customer brought the (stock) Tacoma back to the shop complaining that rode even worse than his 97K mile original struts...
Last time I checked Kyb was doing a $40 rebate on a set of 4 shocks/struts, at least according to RockAuto.
