I hear ya freetors, but in a world where everyone’s design goal seems to be either safety or fuel economy, it’s nice that the big three US manufacturers are still trying to raise the bar on performance. I’m not a Mopar guy, but I see a lot of new Camaros and Mustangs at the track and they are amazing machines that give nothing away to the likes of Porsche, BMW, etc. That was not the case even 10 years ago, and I think Mopar deserves some of the credit for that.
Now I want to hop on CL and look for 80's Dodge pickups. Putting a $50k driveline in an $800 truck makes sense, right?

Calling it now, only a matter of time before we see them chuck a 700+ HP engine into a minivan.
Hellcat Grand Cherokee exists, no?
The Grand Cherokee isn't big enough on the inside to be a Minivan. Otherwise you'd be right... it's usually a mommy-mobile. I should know, I drive one! lol

I was hoping you would say a Diplomat. Of course if you put in a '80s pickup, it needs to be like Professor Braps:

That is the only answer from here on out. It's perfect for the Hellephant. Queue van mural painting montage!

Holy crap balls that would be fun to drift with 1000hp.

But you have a perfectly good Miata just sitting there waiting for it.

Yawn. I'm over all of this horsepower war stuff with the big 3. It's just a wiener slinging competition for rich old guys who can afford to to drop $25k+ on an engine. Give us something really unique that nobody else does, give it a great sound, and give it adequate power. I'd love to see unusual stuff like v4's, small displacement (like 1.5-3 liter) v8's and v12's. How about some boxer engines? Oval pistons? Give us some variety in the automotive world.
I have to agree with you. If you are not headed to the track anything over 500 HP is just for bragging rights. How about spending so design time on making a lighter chassis so you don't need as much HP. But this is MOPARs thing. Take an old outdated chassis and stuff as much HP into it as possible. I guess if it creates sales for them, what do I care.

Ford makes a turbo 3 cylinder, there have been a couple of 5 cylinders in the past decade from multiple manufacturers, twin turbo V6 truck motors!?!?... there's a lot of automotive uniqueness that is around. Can't we have the crazy available too?
Some people just love to bitch and cry!

I'm just glad it has an aluminum block and heads. Hopefully there will be some trickle down of lightweight Hemis for us commoners. I'd love an alloy V8 alternative to the LS for all of my MoPar project repowers.
Lee, is that you behind that FIAT mask? Here's your peanut butter cookie

In Texas? Is this a rhetorical question?
When the hellcrate was first announced I still had my D350 and of course went down the fantasy rabbit hole of a 700hp dually. Now I just think of how many more 215/85r16s I could turn to bbq sauce with 1000hp.
