I don't know if you've driven a first gen, but I think you'll be surprised how quick the 2nd gens are with the new engine.
This is coming from a guy who used to track sportbikes, and have a Coyote Mustang and 135 as daily drivers.

That could be the ticket. They have an available aluminum skidplate (?) add-on and supposedly this new global platform increased the suspension stroke.

Why didn't anyone tell me the base is just under 3300 lbs and does not have a glass powered moonroof which I never use on my Civic Si!!!! I wish it were a bit lighter but 3300 lbs AWD and modern amenities I use is pretty nice.
