Muffler for my Hillclimb/TT car . . .

Need some suggestions on a muffler for the E36 302.

Right now I'm thinking Dynomax Ultra Flo or Super Turbo . . .

Any other suggestions?

Are there noise limits? Why not 2-into-1 3.5" straight pipe?

Angle it away from the worker side of the car(passenger side).

Louvered-type resonator such as a Moroso Spiral Flow?

However, I'll still need one for the track events.

I've had real good luck with the DynoMax Super Turbo mufflers. Decent tone, doesn't whack a whole bunch of power off the top, rotary exhaust makes it smell like an electrical fire.

Not that loud after a few feet of pipe. My 302 powered E30 is too quiet for my tastes with a Spintech muffler on. I'm installing a cut-out this weekend.

UltraFlo is a good choice. The SuperTurbos are 3-pass with baffles (some are twin pipe) -- too much backpressure. Spiral flows are 1950's technology. Besides the Ultraflo's and some of the similar MagnaFlows, you can use the Hushpower II if you need something more compact. Summit and Jegs carry all of these.

I ordered a 12" Dynomax race bullet. We'll see how it goes . . .

Just finished installing an inexpensive round straight thru Magnaflow on the 2002 race car. Still loud but not as harsh, and now it is at an acceptable sound level to move it around the driveway without fear of generating noise complaints.
