He'p me!! I'm looking for mufflers. Small ones.
I'm looking for something that is 2.5" in/out and is no more than 3.5" in diameter. I can use two -- these are for my TVR project. Most everything I can easily find is a Cobra style bullet muffler -- and they are 4" or 4.5" -- too big.
In keeping with the theme of the mag, anyone out there have any info/tech on building your own baffles and stuffing them in, say a 2.5 to 3.5" pipe?
thx!
I have wanted to try building my own mufflers for a few years now.

It seems motorcycle guys do this more often than car folk. At least that is what a few weeks of googling turns up
Perhaps something here:

Have you looked at Cherry bombs?
I think Thrush glasspacks use a perforated core and they're a fairly small diameter.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
I just started looking at the Cherry Bomb/Thrush options based on the inputs here -- didn't originally think of them, but they seem like they might work on a number of levels (cost/size/sound).
I'll look into the classic chambered again -- I thought their mufflers were too heavy -- guess it's time to give them a call.
@Per -- I know Coast is an advertiser........dang, tho$e are $pendy!!!!! There is one on their sale page that would work -- sadly I need two.
thanks again -- keep the ideas coming!
Run Supertrapps at the end of the exhaust system? It would look different! And you could tune them!
