Seems that you are incorrect. Would need to hear owners pipe up but everything I'm seeing on the net points to EDIS.

I have a 94 v6. It is an appliance! Parts are cheep it always gets you there. Reliable as a hammer. I added a Vortech supercharger to mine and the motor wore out in 50K but it was fun to see the GT's do a double take when I would hang with them with ease.

I put a motor from a 98 and I have gone another 100K with no issues.

Rust is an issue if it is a norther car. The body's hold up well but the undercarriage starts to disintegrate.

Where these car's really lack is in the handling. At least the GT's got an improved handling package where as the V6 cars are just pigs. They are really designed for eating up the miles as an appliance.

I have no complaints about my 94. It serves a purpose and that is to go to the parts store and get things to fix all my other cars I have had over the years. It is also to be driven when my other cars are broken.

If you want a GT don't get the V6 you will hate it. IF you want a car to get form point a to b and that is all the V6 is not bad.

Ohya I forgot the fuel millage is not to bad. I get about 28-30 highway and low to mid 20's in the city

There are better cars out there but you will probably pay more. For the $$$$ (they are usually really cheep) they are what they are.

My 94 V6 is an obd2 car with EDIS.

I dont know if the GTs in 94 were OBD2 but they are a dizzy as they were 5.0l

In 95 the GT's I think they went to the 4.6 with EDIS and OBD2

In reply to dean1484:

GT's went 4.6 in 1996 and OBD2 as well at that time. 1994 and 1995 GT's are 5.0 and OBD1. There is an OBD2 port under the dash; ignore it, this is the classic EEC-IV with a multi-pin connector at the passenger shock tower under the hood. Which means trouble shooting these cars is a little more difficult without a real breakout box vs. being able to read OBD2 data with a laptop, some software, and a cheap data cable or some similar solution.

Sorry, the 3.8 was dizzy until 93 in the Mustang. It stuck around longer in the other cars (TBirds, trucks, etc). Still not worth getting over a GT, even at 1/4 the price.

And yes, GT was 5.0 HO OBD1 in 94 and 95, with the 96 getting OBDII and the 4.6 terd simultaneously.

Bummer dude. I've been close to death since Thursday i think with a nasty respiratory thing. Can't breathe.

But at least now i can look for V6 Mustangs on Craigslist. I do have a spare hugenormous turbo or two.

Don't waste your time, the engine will puke out it's head gaskets when it hears the word "boost".

Besides, if you find a 5.0 GT, you can put both of them on it.

I'll split a 302 block in half. Quite honestly, if i can even halfway go off that list i posted earlier, the 302 won't last much farther than a V6 will.

Head studs and overtorquing is cheap. Aftermarket blocks aren't.

I tend to lead a charmed life when it comes to motors, i've found. I ain't skeered.

Besides... i'm not exactly looking to BUY a Mustang, but i can mentally build one all i want. I don't particularly like mustangs, and cannot stand the way they sound.

My mom had a 94 V6 auto convertible.

Went through 2 head gaskets before it hit 100k, BONE STOCK.

From what I've read those old 3.8s take to boost amazingly well, even in stock form.

And with as plentiful as they are in junk yards, even if they only took to boost moderately well it'd still be a pretty good deal.

You MUST be mistaking the GM 3.8 with the Ford 3.8...

Early 3.8s had a head gasket issue. The fix was to install the super coup head gaskets. Ford fixed the problem in either 97 or 98. I fixed it by blowing up the first motor with a supprrcharger. New crate motor lasted fifty k miles with the supprrcharger. I had to replace it due to the rings Waring out. The current motor came from a 98 with fourty k on it. At the same time I removed the supercharger. It has lasted ten years with no issues.

As for rock auto listing a dizzy they are wrong I can post photos to prove it.
