That much better, eh? The new one is in the league of $30k cars... Does it still come out on top?
It's no more expensive than a new NC, less expensive than a new NB was and about the same as a new NA when inflation is taken into account.
Smaller than the NC, though, and no PRHT (yet). Not for the bulky kids. But I'm really enjoying it.

I totally agree that new for new, list for list, the ND makes a lot more sense than an NC. I guess I was looking more for an apples-to-oranges comparison; is an ND $10k better than a 2 year old NC? When I asked a similar question in a Cayman thread, the response was pretty unanimous that an S was $10k better than a non-S.
To me, it is. Definitely.
To you? That's something you'd have to decide. It doesn't have a PRHT, so that's a big strike against your requirements. It's not as roomy inside, which may feel a bit more claustrophobic on long trips - I've not yet tested that aspect. The ND definitely has a higher level of tech if that's your thing, but mostly it's the quality of chassis and the engine.
Dont want to highjack your thread but what can $14k get you as far as NC miatas? That's my price ceiling and it just seems slightly lower for a decent PRHT miata.
You will want to spend only $12k on one then and use the rest for sways, springs, shocks and tires
So, uh... Looks like I'm picking up a CPO '15 Grand Touring with all of the options. Meteor gray. Soft top. While I thought I was set on the hard top, I love how easy the soft top is.
My warped justification? It's 6k cheaper and 6 years newer than the cheapest base Cayman I was considering.

Thanks for the kind words! I was planning to save a few bucks by getting a Club, but I decided eff it, might as well get the exact color combo I want.
I can only laugh... On the drive back from picking my Focus up from the dealership, it bursts a coolant hose. Makes me feel a lot better about buying a new car, hah. At least I'm near civilization and only 10 miles from home. Easy tow.
Wanna haul that SVT back to Gainesville? I probably have a buyer for it.
When I decide to let it go, you're welcome to do a fly'n'drive
Was mostly joking. Would be for a neighbors 17yo daughter. Good kid, but probably not up for a fly and drive. Neighbors see me as "the car guy" but they dont realize that usually means i just buy fully broken cars and sorta fix them enough to make them drivable. Not the best judge of reliability.
