The Big Bend Open Road Race is a pretty grassroots affair. Lots of Vettes and Mustangs, of course, but there were also a few Loti, some replica Daytona Coupes, a '50 Ford, an RX7, and even a Miata.
My post was about 36 miles into the 59-mile course on US-285. Not a bad spot at all.

Ex-NASCAR Charger (Note buzzard damage)
This '50 Ford with a flathead V8 got a podium finish in its class - 85 MPH - and went through the speed trap at 101.
A bad focus, a lot of zoom, and some mirage gave me this:
I want to do this in the CTS-V. Going to talk to my co-driver on One Lap and figure it out. Definitely a bucket list event.

I bet the driver of that Charger E36 M3 himself when he hit the buzzard, based on where the damage is!
I need to mark my calender and make it out there for this event. I keep thinking about it but always forget. Cool pics.
I'm planning on running my Firebird next spring.

I love that shoebox Ford. Too cool.
That is an exceptional Ford if it hit 100.
Talk about running anything and everything. Lots of daily drivers type cars itvlooked like. The ford truck and chevy suv where funny though. Talk about the amount of bloody vettes though. Holy crap, talk about it looked like a gm comercial from the huge amount of gm cars that where run though. Very cool photos.
How did you get photos of both sides of the same car since I can see you where in the same place though.
That looks awesome!!! I've never heard of the BBORR. Pics were great.
