Please buy this for me:
http://yakima.craigslist.org/cto/3465443804.html
1980 rover 3500 sd1 v8, 5spd runs well ,no rust, interior is great, new tires, aluminum 3.5 ltr very rare car
Then I can ask Santa for some proper head lamps and hit PnP for a Land Rover based EFI setup.
Clean looking car... what is the love about though? Serious question - it isn't something I'm familiar with other than knowing it's a Rover. Are they a secret jewel or is it nostagia from childhood... or are you a glutton for punishment (the trident in your avatar screams YES!).
My birthday is tomorrow as well. I'd be happy if my damn e30 parts would just arrive :)

To me, it is a V8 British car that is styled like a 4 door Daytona.
That's a legitimate way to look at it. Fix the headlights and they're not a bad looking car.
Its a Rover. Rarish here but the UK is still full of them. They were sort of the the caddy/lincoln/lexus top of the mid range bottom of the top range in the 70's and 80's.

Uh, you know this is the same guy who owned an Alfa Milano, Maserati Biturbo, and Merkur XR4Ti............at the same time?
...and I too will PayPal you $20 as long as you post pics of it doing weird British things, 73 to go...
Sooo inexpensive.......sooo far away.

Actually, even half decent ones are getting really hard to find in the UK. When I moved to the UK in '98 they were fairly easy to find, but a lot of them were on borrowed time back then. The real "Roverheads" weren't too interested in them as they're a BL creation so a lot of them quietly fell apart and got crushed.

Wow, that seems cheap.
Too cheap, maybe... makes me wonder what's wrong with it...
My g/f's birthday is tomorrow as well... She's getting some car stuff, but mostly she wants progress on her house...
Do eeeet
A good negotiator and GRMer would get that for close to $1K
A local MD had one for several years.
He often drove it to the club but I don't recall him having anything to say about it one way or the other.
He's gone now & so is the car.
Happy Birthday!!!!
No, didn't get you the car. Sorry.

They never really caught my attention but it's something you can't get from a picture.

Honestly, I am in for $20. I have always thought these were neat cars and that it sucks we didn't get them. That brings it to 72 to go. Or with good negotiation, 54 to go or so.

It also looks like a v8 British car that is styled like a Chevy Citation.

We actually did get them, funny enough, but a teeny number like 2000 imported in one year only I think. Those heinous headlights are a U.S. only setup.

Okay, then, a v8 British car that Chevy copied to make the Citation. ;-)

Yes - this.
Plus, I think it's not an aluminum V8. I think the 215 was bought from Buick in aluminum but all Rover displacements were iron, but I cloud be mistaken.
But yeah, it's clean. It's about as desirable as a clean Pontiac 6000.

They are aluminium indeed. I don't think the brits ever made an iron version.
GM, though, made a V6 from the 215 V8 and only ever made it in iron. This was what eventually became the 3800.
