Something tells me you can't make one running car out of those two.

I bet you could, but the price seems high.

That actually looks fairly intriquing, though I'd rather have a 450SEL 6.9

I drove past those two cars on Saturday. They caught my eye, but I had the whole family with me.

Vacuum nightmare. My mom has an 85 turbo diesel. She loves it but been fighting vacuum issues for the last two years. Even the gas cap lock is vacuum operated.

Definitely could be. But it could also be a fairly good deal depending on how good/bad they really are.

Bring a metal pick and check the undercarriage for rust. You can eliminate a lot of the vacuum stuff, I gave up in most of it working. Did I mention they like to rust. The m110 engine is a good engine. The c123 is a pretty neat car and there weren't many made, you can also find a c123 diesel which are even more rare, special engine option to pass CAFE, export only.

In reply to benzbaronDaryn:

You said it, rust. Especially in the north east if the car was driven year round.

I had a 123 300D. Check the rockers around the jack holes, some one had filled mine with bondo, not the jack holes, all around them, so it looked good, another area on mine was the passenger side rear floor near the tunnel. A bracket for the Ebrake is welded on in that area. I dont know if that had anything to do with it, but it was where the rust started on mine, with the pulling of the cable, the bracket broke off and rust continued in the area, needing a patch.

If you can, pull back the carpet on the inside along the floor rails (inside of the rockers), where the seat belts mount, mine had rust on the passengers side in the area where the seat belt mounted.

If it was not for the rust I would still have it. NH is a pain in the .... when it comes to rust. Them "Sir, your car failed because of a dime size rust hole in the rocker and exhaust fumes can enter the passenger compartment" Me " the hole is right next to the open factory weep hole and exhaust can get into it" Them " Sorry, we still can not give you a sticker"
