A 12 pack of beer slides all over them like a block of ice on a bed of snot.

I can buy a lot of cold beer at the drive-thru beer barn with the $400 those cost!

It was the first image in the search. Here, smartass.

I get one for free every year at my state fair. Gotta love me some homer buckets.

I typically drink it so fast, no cooling is necessary.

Uh, they were less than half that amount.

Ha! All I know is that when i can drink off the first six or so out of the box and pour the ice straight in the box I don't need a cooler. Works for boxes of wine too!
And really, putting anything else but beverages in a cooler is a slippery slope my good man.

My mistake. I thought you were referring to the price of the mats!
In reply to bravenrace:
I don't know, if you folded up the mats in just the right way im sure they would hold beer and ice.

I'm thinking that I may have to do a study on the coefficient of friction for various types of beverage containers in order to determine what might work best with my coco mats.
Maybe you could find a case in their cooler that is slightly damp. Maybe this would increase the friction between the case and the mat?

I might also pick up some evaporative cooling that way. I wonder what level of moisture would be needed to remain effective throughout the entire ride home....
Very good question. Too much moisture could leave the cans rolling down the driveway when you go to take the case out of the car!
I think an experiment is in order!

There is also shock loading to consider. Every time I accel or decel or turn the carton slides and ends up smacking against something. It's not a good situation at all.
