Nice choice. I loved my '91 when I had it. A great GT cruiser.

As for the wing, the car looks gawd awful without one. I'm normally not a huge fan of wings/spoilers, but this car just needs it to look right.

For now the wing is staying just because I'm not going to ruin the paint to fill 18 holes. I also think I'll keep the stock wheels at least through winter. I picked up some Falken 512s (the only tires I could find in the stock size), and while I know they're not great tires, I'll at least get a chance to see whether I want to spend more on good tires like Star Specs.

Honestly, this car needs nothing. Yeah, it's always tempting to throw in race seats or cool suspension stuff, but even if I don't race this car, I think I want to keep it ES legal for now, so most of that stuff is out. I don't even plan on doing struts until the car actually needs them. Maybe I'll do a front sway bar, but that would be about it for now.

This way, I can race the Camaro at tours and in-region stuff for points, but if I want to just have some fun and not change tires, I can take this car out of region and run a street tire index class.

Just a thought-

If you get a front bar, you might consider getting the big Suspension Techniques bar for it. It's the biggest bar available and works well in E Stock. But then have some tabs welded to it and drill some additional holes to make it adjustable. So if you're just driving it you can have it just a little stiffer than stock, but you're all set if you want to go E Stocking.

A little more front bar is a good idea for an MR2 even if it's street driven. Keeps the rear end in check.

Have fun!

From the research I've done, some people say that the ST bar has a bad tendency of ripping out chassis sway bar mounts, and also that the TRD bar is a better choice for slower courses--as tends to be the case in my area. I'm not saying you're wrong, just wondering if you'd agree with those statements.

Glad to hear you are keeping the wind and the wheels.. i would have voted to keep both.

30mpg is not too bad. Not great, not bad.

Nice find! I've been half-looking for one just like that. Hopefully, I will find one soon. It definitely needs a wing of some sort and an upgraded front sway bar. Whiteline has an adjustable 20mm sway bar for the car if I recall correctly.

If you go wingless, you need sideskirts.
