Been trying to help a friend with the right front CV joint in his escort, he had plans to warm it up a bit and all, but finally gave up on it and said that I could have it. A good Buddy and I are gonna replace the whole axle after I pick it up and get it registered and such.
I'm totally new to this car, wondering if there are any issues that he and I ought to attend to while it's in his garage. It ran well, still idles well and all, but has been sitting on and off for a couple of years or so. I know that the fuel and filters, oil and trans fluid ought to changed, but what else should be looked at more closely before I trust it to get me around.
I'll just be a Winter car (for ME ! ! !) so I don't want to alter anything really, just need to know what I ought to pay attention to/what the weak point are on this make/year/model to make it as safe and solid a driver as I can on a budget.
