So i've been living in japan for a week now and needed a car so i found my self a new DD
It's a 1997 Celica GT-FOUR 70k miles on it, its not perfect its got a few dings and a spot on the door and the rear lip and factory fog lights are missing but at least the dealer ship agreed to get it repainted and do the timing belt before i take delivery next week

Interesting. What's up with the little round hole in the hood?
Oh wow, that's awesome. I've been dreaming about moving to Japan and buying myself something cool to have fun on the weekends in. It's so cool that dealers there will actually take care of stuff like the paint and timing belt, too, it's one of the only places in the world where you can get service like that and not get screwed.
SWEET BABY TRICYCLE RIDIN' JEEBUS!

I wondered too. I looked at a few motor shots of that car. The round scoop looks functional, and feeds between the firewall and the motor.
"and a small round scoop to provide cooling air to the cambelt housing (found to melt during rallying on older models). "

Yep it cools the timing belt an theirs another scoop that cools the alternator, i'm at Misawa AFB in the north so i needed something with AWD as my daily
How much did it cost you?
Awesome looking car. Not a huge fan of Toyotas but those Celicas have a soft spot in my heart from Sega Rally on Sega Saturn with the Catrol livery.
I haven't seen one of those since I left Oz, definitely well played

I over paid a little bit but after everything was said and done I'm in it for 5800$
If that's overpaying... i'd LOVE to overpay for one of these, today.

Well the GT-R's here are double what they are everywhere else (12-14k) because of the air base and the a lack of clean examples in the north.

+1
I still hate the electronics in them, though.
Hey, it looks like the ones we got over here! Only yours is awesome and ours..well...weren't! Have fun!
Ya. Took my buddy over 4 months to find his. I think he only paid maybe 8 out the door tho. He looked online and had it delivered. Didn't bother with the base lot. Or anything real near to fussa.
Its amazing how much rust is in japan tho.

I miss Japan.. It was a dream-place for cars. I had my fare share of rides during my tenure there. First was a 86 Celica-Supra, then a few Fairlady's, etc.. too much to list..
If it's 25 y/o, you might be able to bring it back.. right?
