What part store has the best house brand pads?

It's time to do the brakes on my 96 and I gotta save as much money as I can before the baby gets here.

Thanks Robert

Napa Altrom line of semi-metallic pads worked well for me. And cheap.

I'd suspect any brake pads will be fine for a Miata for DD use. The nicer/grippier/more fade resistant pads are for autoX or track use.

It's a 20 year old car now however so you'd be well served to give the whole braking system a solid once over (flush the fluid, lube the slide pins, etc). You do know about the trick to winding in the rear calipers don't you?

I just put NAPA Proformer pads on my Fiesta an they suck.

they stop OK but the dusting is outrageous and the sometimes are noisy on light application.

Think I will go back to Ford OEM.
