As those of you who read my time-wasting posts know, I'm trying to put together a mobile oil change business. The synopsis is basicly I provide the customer with convience of having their car maintained while it is sitting idle at work, at home, or wherehaveyou.
It's not a new idea, people have been doing it for some time. However, nobody does it here. I'm still trying to figure out my costs, insurance, etc etc, but O great GRM, I need your help with the one thing I just can't figure out..... The name!!!
I need a hook, something that spells out exactly what I do, but is simple and short enough that I can answer the phone with it and not be a mouthful. It's kind of a small town and stuff with people's last name's in the name is pretty common, so I'm not against it, but if you can think up or something with that I can go with that too. My last name is Clark.
What's that? Prizes? OH YEAH! I did hook you in with that in the title didn't I? Umm, well, the prize is the pride in knowing that you've helped an average joe get his small business dream off the ground? You know everything GRM is cheap, free, or a mixture of both.
So get crackin!.... please.

"grease thumb"
(target prius owners....talk about the environmentally friendly oil disposal that you are offering. Convenient for them, and good for the planet....for a price. They love paying others as a means of do-gooding.)

I'd honestly avoid limiting yourself by using Oil Change in the name. As you grow and expand you may take on other maintenance services so you don't want a name that limits customers to thinking of you as the "oil change" guy.
"At Your Service"
Says it all.
Brandon's Anal Lube
~ Detail oriented lubrication services ~
Mobile Car Care (MCC) hmmm

The company I work for has "hose" in it.
We get all calls for everything under the sun that is close to a hose, this point is key as we are trying to break into other areas and are not considered because of that "hose" name.
You would be wise to follow JThw8's advice.
Silly names are fun and kitchy, but they may not get you anywhere long term. Id call a company that sounds more legit than the others if I have no preference and Im just googling and the yellow pages comes up. My suggestions are:
Onsite Auto Service
Onsite Pro Service
Mobile Motor Care
Mobile Experts
Mobile Car Care
Mobile Motorworks. Mobile Auto (cleverish).
I agree with 4CF and think you should keep it simple. A quick way to narrow down your favorites is to see which of them have .com domains available.
Mobile Mechanic
Mobile Motors
Mobile Maintenance
Mobile Lube
Local Lube
Clark's Super Auto Service
Possible tag-lines:
"Not your average oil service!"
"Oil be there in a minute!"
"No more waiting! We come to you!"
"We go the distance for you!"
Thanks for all the input, and the stupid names, I knew you wouldn't disappoint.
I think Brandon's Mobile Auto Care wins out.
Now I need a slogan, something in italics under the name. Some others I've seen are "We come to you" and my favorite "We change your oil, not your schedule."
