Speed academy just posted a great article/video on testing on 100 treadwear track day tires. I have run the RC1's before but was interested in the behavior they described about the Nankangs but can't figure out where to get them in the US?

Tires-Easy.com has been my source for less common tire brands in the past, they have Nankangs but also do not have the AR1 for some reason.
They ship to the US. I was looking for them in smaller sizes and couldn't find them here (didn't look very hard, though).
At first I though Nankang AR-1 was a Chinese knockoff of an AR-15, now I learn that it is a tire I didn't know about.

I’d ask them - I have pretty good experience getting parts from the UK, both for motorcycles and cars. Usually shipping was pretty reasonable, too, and tends to be pretty quick. Heck, I’ve had a motorcycle parts supplier in the UK beat the shipping times from one 200 miles away from me....
Plus one on Demon Tweeks, I have had very good service from them to the USA.
These could be relevant to my interests, Chinese cheapos are the most common type of tire sold by me. Also, dat Toyobaru in the video...mmm....
Watch the review, its interesting. I felt the corner entry behavior might be very confidence inspiring for building up your trust in corner entry speeds which I think for most HPDE drivers is the most scary part
I trust the 100 tw rated Nankang tires do not use the obsidian compound they use in their UHP street tires
They have a good rep over in Europe you can see many reviews
Wheel wiz in Montreal seems to carry the Nankang AR-1 tires. Not sure if they ship to the US but website is in CDN $ (at least for me)...

Need my eyes checked. Thought the title said AR-15s. Doh.
Any authorized dealer can order them, just depends on who you talk to. These would be good for a Budget Tire Test too.

Rallycrossers buy from them all the time. The shipping is not so great (around $250 for a set of tires) but the tire (or even tyre) prices are low enough that it's still a bargain.
What is annoying is that going to demon-tweeks.co.uk from an American IP address now redirects you to their US site, which has different product.
