The clear winner is the Buick Roadmaster wagon, 1991-1996. The back will hold a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood. Potential for up to 8 passengers. What's not to like?

Just curious, why '01+ for the Taurus?

Better front end styling and interior styling.

If your looking for room... I know where you can get a 89 Pontiac Safari with a Olds 307 for $1000 63k miles. That is huge, halls 9 people and has a trailer hitch. Next on the list would be the mid 90's GM versions. Plenty of room, parts are easy. Going a little exotic a Taurus wagon with a SHO swap would be ultimate.

Next I would go with the 700/900 series, then either the V70 or 200 Series Volvo's.

Next I would go with a Subie!

I believe that would be my list biggest to smallest and coincidentally Lowest to highest maintenance.

My .02 maybe .00

V70r's have popped up on my local CL for around 4-5k, even less than that for T5 FWDs

Minus the wagon but we're doing a 32v 3.4L v8 sho swap into an 03 sedan here..
