I need to find out more about this class. A friend of mine wants to try Chumpcar racing with a old Mini Stock Mustang.

They started out that way. Badically the cars were old ASA fuel Injected Late Models. The cars didnt really meet any other series rules set and there was a plentiful supply due to the brief popularity in said ASA.

I think they debuted the LS series engine, they now make huge power but still no one wants to use them in a series. Good 'ol LT 350 is still king. The Day Nascar drops the LT (or pick one, Ford, toyota, dodge) then they will follow and the engine we grew up with Becomes as obsolete as the flathead.

The NASCAR engine is closer to the LS than it is the old350 and really doesn't share anything with the cars running at short tracks.

The SB2 had more in common with mkIV-mkV big blocks than they did with small blocks.
