Weave a panel out of it, and then melt-shrink it with a heat gun to have a quick and really light patch panel.
Really cool idea by the way.
Man, I don't think anything involving weaving is going to be quick. Good idea though. Like 21st century canvas and dope panels
~$23 would buy an awful lot of real rope.
I see this sitting in a drawer collecting dust except when it's drug out to demonstrate how "useful" it is.
My fear is that the plastic rope will now be left all over the palace. Birds getting tangled in it etc. Where as you can just toss the complete plastic bottle into the recycling bin and it is made into a bench or something.

you'd definitely need to keep some type of framing to have it hold the shape and size of the panel when shrinking it via heat. It's a great idea in theory, but likely not much easier then doing fiberglass stuff via foam, foil and reverse mold.
