Anyone near that area? I need someone to check out this car for me. Prefer someone with experience with these, but that may be getting too picky. Anyhoo, let me know if you can help me out. Thanks!

C'mon, somebody help a poor brave out. I didn't mean to derail his thread, and now I feel bad.
I don't know much about the b, but im fairly familiar with the midget.
Could possibly check it out next week end.
In reply to Duke:
You should. Shame on you.

Thanks. A lot of what I need to know has to do with condition. How far away from it are you?
Tuna and I are in town. but I know NOTHING about MG's.
In reply to Mad_Ratel:
I'm looking for someone who can assess condition, which is somewhat universal. My concern are things that I can't see in pictures.
Just for E36 M3s and giggles, you may want to call Hap Waldop at Acme Speed Shop in Greenville. He is an MG guru and may know something about that specific car as he builds and races MGs. I did notice that he did not build the engine for that car, so be prepared for some salty comments.
Im a few hours away. And it would give me a chance to mret/hang out with tuna and mad.
I can do it on the 5th if you want me to.

I know the local head of the SCCA group Ted Theodore and asked if he knew of the car. (he's the creator of the Tail of the Dragon hill climb and also Writer for "the southern driver").
If he does not I'll see if I can get some time this weekend.
So Ted says that no one in the area recognizes the car. Belief is that the guy moved here from being close to Mid Ohio (add mentions MO records) and then found out it's a good haul to the nearest track. 2 hours plus to RA and 2 plus to CMP.
good things, Ted offered to go with. He's had five MGB's, 3 MGA's, 2 midgets, 2 bugeyes, 3 sprites, 4 triumphs, 1 XKE, 5 914's including a Chalon that he bought monday... to add to the 100+ cars he's owned in his life.
Do you have contact info for the owner?

I can also help if you need it but I've never looked at an MG B thoroughly before.

Don't worry, it's basically a British Volvo 122, except slower, lighter, less reliable, and more prone to rust.
In reply to Mad_Ratel:
That's great! I've only communicated with him through Ebay, so I don't have any contact info from him, but I will send a message and ask him for it. I'll get back to you probably today. Thanks!

I have his contact number now. For some reason I can't PM people, but I can reply to PM's. Can you send me a PM and then I'll reply with his number? Thanks!
I had totally forgotten about Ted. I believe he is a member here, but rarely posts.
So my cell phone died this afternoon while mowing.
I'll call from my work desk tomorrow and see. Ted is unable to come but he gave me some things to look at when looking at an older racecar.
Anything in particular you are looking for? I'll use my wifes cell to look at it.

Well you beat me to it Ted was going to be my suggestion, and on top of all those other cars he was also in owner of Berzerkeley (yes that Berzerkeley) for awhile.
Still has the berzerkeley I believe. Just finished a Hillclimb in it a bit ago.
Prior to that was an awesome hillclimb car with a ported rotary...
