I read where this is the last year they will be making the Elantra Touring. This will make these somewhat rare but I think they are very nice. To me they are a Kia Soul with more conservative looks. There may be some model run end discounts to be had.

There could be a bit of an mpg issue with that Ford?
What a cool wagon! To make it better it should be trailering some period correct, big engined boat.
I have to agree on the elantra wagon. If bought brand new you get a 10yr engine/trans warranty. My parents spent an extra $600 and got the rest of the car covered . That was on a sonata, but still 10yrs worth of a warranty and all you need to do is maintenance. That to me is win. In 10 yrs we'll probably replace the car.

I have had my 03 9-5 Aero for for about 18 months, it has @ 130K (we got it with just under 100K) on it and I have had to replace these disks that keep the window in the track on the drivers side but other than that it has not missed a beat.
Get one that has been taken care of and they will be reliable, cheap and fun to drive.
But as with anything YMMV.
PS - The only one to get is an Aero, hands down.
It's no TDI, but one of these is for sale locally that I've been eyeing. I don't need it, don't want it, but this one is so nice, clean, smokey silver color, third seat and you can eat off any part of the car.
I'm convincing myself it's a bad idea .....
Guy's asking $5500. You see the dilemma ....
