I need your guys help...

The Insurance company has been taking their time getting what they consider is an 'accurate' value on the Dirtball. They have finally come up with about $6500. They are claiming condition issues, due to paint and missing carpeting, interior trim, ext.

She is a total loss too them, But I am planning on 'buying' her back and doing the repairs my self.

Knowing that intrest in these cars (and values) have been increasing I started looking, and any thing really drivable seem to be around 8 to 10k.

I'm not saying the Dirtball is a 15k car and Maybe they are right in line, but I'm intersted to see what is out there... 74-79, $6500 and up, preferably middle America.

Since I know we all love scouring the internet for cars we don't need... Anyone wanna take a look to see what's out there comparible to counter offer? At the very least this exercise should be educational.

there is a body sitting on a wood buck(sawhorses) a few miles down the road, been there at least a year and I've seen no frame or Interior or anyone there, though I've only gotten by there on weekends. I could ride over and look around if it's something you'd be interested in. I was thinking it may fit on the extra C4 I have, with of course some work.

Thanks for the offer, but other than being curious about random Corvette parts sitting out side... I don't need another body the nose can be fixed reasonable. I am just looking to see if that $6500 is legit.

I love the wheels on the first one! Good color... been repainted. Just not sure how much they are deducting for the Dirtball being the Dirtball.

If the Convertible was a coupe it would be a good reference as it too would need a repaint.

Fair enough... but damn that 74 has the same wheels that were on mine when I bought it.

It's hard to look at yours as anything other than "needing a bunch of interior work" from an inspection standpoint. $6500 sounds about ballpark for one that needs some finishing. I know you had it the way you did on purpose, but it's a hard argument to make.

I get that, the adjusters comments were: missing carpet, missing headliner, missing interior trim....

I joked that obviously THEIR concept of value and MINE differ... but you can't yell RACECAR at the insurance company

I also get that this not really the kind of thing they are rquiped or wanna deal with. From more Research on my own and what was here, yes 6500 is probably ball park, I just need to suck up the 2k salvage value and have 4500 bucks to fix/ upgrade.
