Would any GRMers local to Norcross, GA be willing to pick up and ship a 944 torque tube to me? The one in my "new" 944 has bad bearings and I can't seem to locate one reasonably close to me, and the private sellers want a mint for them ($200 plus shipping). There's a seller on ebay with one for $50 but he won't ship. I'd cover shipping expenses, travel for the kind soul plus some token of my appreciation to be worked out. Thanks!
Scott
Hey, your local Porsche parts guy is always willing to help out! Norcross is close enough, I could go on my lunch break!

Plus a million - thanks for all the offers. FYI, the part is about 67# and 79" long, about 3-4" diameter flaring to about 12" at the bellhousing end; in short, it's a substantial chunk of metal that will need to be packaged and sent my way. I just want you all to understand what you're getting into before you volunteer...

Brad, could you take it back to work and have them package and send it out? You might have the easiest time of it if that's the case.
Yeah, there is a greyhound right down the street from work, and I shipped a bumper with them for 16 dollars. (it cost me more than that to ship a Microsoft Steering Wheel for an X-Box yesterday)
Did you check into rebuilding the torque tube with new bearings? I'm a closet 944 Turbo fan and found several HOWTOs around the net. Apparently, replacement bearings can be had from industrial supply for a reasonable price.
Looks like Greyhound wants about $100 to ship it, while undiscounted FedEx Ground is only $50. Looks like JeffMX5 take care of it for me, thanks to all who offered.
