OK, crappy weekend. Worked on 3 projects, none fixed. Go figure. The Rio's MAIN problem will be done in a week or so with the new LCA.
First off.... I need to find the updated TSB parts for the 06-10 Rio front exhaust hanger. There's a bulletin but, like Honda and Toyota, Hy/Ki no longer offer that info for free online. The problem is a rusted hanger that allows the exhaust to make all sorts of terrible noises at all times. Any help there would be great.
Second problem is the Honda powered pressure washer. Pulled the carb, cleaned the varnish, pulled the needle valve and cleaned etc. Runs GREAT with no load. Start running the washer and it bogs and will eventually die. runs best cold... ideas? I'm definitely not a small engine mechanic. Carbs to me are voodoo + black magic with a little sorcery mixed in for good measure.
Last problem is on the '06 Sierra CC. Had the PO446 and 455 codes for evap. Got the updated kit with enlarged filter, added the hose and all that jazz. Cleared codes. Wife drove it and guess what came back on? the po455 is ALSOrelated to the gas cap seal or any other large evap leaks. While under, I saw no other leaks, but that doesn't mean there aren't any. is there a cheap/easy way to self diagnose evap issues that doesn't require a smoke machne or replacing parts and hoping that does it?
On a happier note.... driving the little Rio is actually no longer a chore. It's definitely a momentum car, but with the suspension done it carries a lot of speed for something on 185/65/14 all season tires. A LOT of speed. If only it were a manual it'd truly be fun!

Next, pull the float bowl off and make sure the main jet isn't restricted. It should be in a casting pointing straight down.
Lastly, did you replace the vent solenoid as well as the extended filter kit? The 446 implies its pulling too much vacuum in the tank, which suggests a blocked vent path- If you drive a lot of dusty roads, its possible the solenoid is jammed up with dust, and is neither sealing or venting properly. I have also seen them with the canister itself restricted with dust.

I had the same problem with a Honda pressure washer. Bought a new Honda carb for like $23 on Amazon and it runs like new.
We live on a gravel road.... so I replaced the solenoid and filter kit assembly doohickie.
Pulled the jet out and cleaned with carb cleaner. IT, the float and the float needle are the only movable pieces in this thing.

Yeah it's still gummed up somewhere. I've had good success with hondas, with running a TON of seafoam in that small tank. Maybe one whole can per a gallon. It works.
Should have thought of the seafoam. Damnit! it's the easy button of small engines too!

I did the same thing, twice, and it still didn't run right. Replaced it and it started on the first pull and ran better than ever. For $20 it was worth it.
it still pulls on the first pull. runs fine as long as you're not trying to use it as a power washer. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/crazy-18.png)
For the washer, try running it without the fuel filter. It sound air starved to me.
Just got home and checked the truck. New code. PO459 now. I'm wondering if I should pull the battery and reset the ecu. I'm going to regardless but we'll have to guess until I check it again.
Sounds like the purge valve is bad, or the purge valve hose is plugged.
Well, CVV and filter have been replaced. You know what... I need to get back under there.... one of the clips broke, I did a repair and I wonder if that came loose again?
Otherwise.... try the gas cap? lol
Little update on this..... So the truck is fixed. Found the problem pretty easily once I crawled under there. Man I have got to find a new mechanic. Apparently when you install new parts you're supposed to oplug the little electrical connectors in as well. At least that was easy.
The Rio problem is almost fixed. Got the old CA out, reinstalling the new and the axle popped apart again but this time I said screw it. I'm replacing it with another new one for $54. Not worth it. With that in place, EVERYTHING on the left front corner will be new.
Didn't touch the pressure washer yet, but replaced the belts and blades on the Dixie Chopper.... only to find a broken tensioner bracket. Tore it apart and "welded" it back together. I will NEVER take a picture of my welds but they do hold.
