Ok, removing the IAC from my challenge car (basically all used ones seem to be either working or not, and even if working they can become giant boost leaks, new ones are $200 ish). I don't think ill need it since my car does not have AC and I have been driving it for a full year with the IAC simply unplugged but still hooked up.
Basically it is a secondary 'throttle' attached to a motor and it has an 'in' tube coming from above the throttle plate and an 'out' tube that goes back under the throttle plate. Both lines are 7/8th inch barb fittings and use rubber hoses.
I'd like to block both ports, with something very cheap and easy. Has to survive both vacuum and boost. If I had a 7/8ths solid cylinder about 1-2 inches long I could just hose clamp it in in place of the IAC. What should I use to block both ports, and why am I blanking on the best way to do this? Should I just grab two very large diameter bolts at the hardware store and hose clamp one in each side?

Why not a 7/8ths ID hose from one to the other is using hose clamps?
For barb fittings, I like vacuum caps like these:

If you get really cheap flimsy ones, you can put some RTV in them before you push them on and hose clamp them.

If they connect then I basically have a throttle that is mostly open all the time since it bypasses the main throttle plate. I'm pretty sure they both need to be blocked.
really cheap? JB Weld a snug fitting, short bolt into each. Or, trim a plastic wine cork, wood dowel, aluminum round stock ... to fit snug.... and JB Weld. To make it strong but less permanent use black windshield adhesive caulking.

Do they make those as big as 7/8th inch?
^ I've seen them more than 1" in diameter for blocking large coolant ports. They're generally not that easy to find though, you may have to order them online.
How about a marble or large ball bearing jammed into in the hose between the IAC and the back side of the throttle plate. That makes it removable if you decide to fix it later. Mae sure it can not go into the tube port on the back side of the throttle plate...
I've done this with JB weld before. Worked great even under boost.
