Disconnecting the rear bar will only make it certain he will stuff it into the trees front end first instead of backwards. Tell the person to get his own car. There are a lot of 3 grand or less clunkers out there.

Hello All, sorry I didn't have time to get back into this thread the last few days.
Just to re-iterate, I am completely confident that this friend would not do anything to push the car to its limits on purpose, honestly, this is one of (if not the most) stand up and reliable person I know. I am only concerned about the emergency panic situations that may crop up (deer runs out, someone pulls out unexpectedly, etc.). I have set the car up to be somewhat more twitchy/tail happy than the average Miata, which is in turn, more tail happy than the average Corolla... I just want to give him one less thing to worry about (if a panic situation occurs). It sounds like the easiest is the rear sway bar disconnect, so I will do that.
The reason that I am loaning him the car is because his company is moving him out of country at the end of summer and his normal car was just written off when someone rear-ended him. We chatted and thought this was the best way for him to have reliable transportation until August without the hassle of trying to sell a car before he leaves.
Thanks, Martin

You're more likely to survive that way. That's the exact reason why stock cars understeer.
