As I clean and revive my shop, I have had to sometimes make choices on what gets...well gone!
Today, I decided that the 3 old engines sitting in the middle of my shop needed to go away. A couple of Ford 429s and an old 302 that I have been looking at for 25 years. On the trailer, off to the scrapyard, home by 4:00.
At 6:10 a gentleman shows up, referred by a friend, that was seeking a 429!
And people wonder why I don't get rid of this stuff!

Too far away anyway but I'd love a 429 to build up and drop in my Colony Park
But I fully understand, you can only trip over them so long then they gotta go.
Heck I would grabbed the 429 from you just to save it from the scrap. Don't have anything to put it in at the moment but you never know what the future may hold.
I have a 280Z block on a shelf in my garage. Everything else is in my basement. Sometimes I think it needs to go. Then I figure it hang hang out......

Same here. I have pack rat tendencies that must be weighed against having just a 2 car garage. I've been purging a lot of stuff in the last 6 months, it's been hard. I had a number of pieces of 3/16 steel plate left over from something else. I bet I had a dozen, .5 square foot pieces. I got rid of them, not even keeping just one of them around. Sure enough, a few weeks after getting rid of them, I needed one. DANGIT!
I was making room for my new compressor and tire changer. Had them on Craigslist and got nothing so away they went. I will let ya'll know when I hit the Challenge and Chumpcar candidates (and yes I have many).
Just a small sample of things to come...or rather go!
Bruce
When I first read the thread, I thought I had the same problem as you ... I have a couple of engines and whatnot in my garage taking up space. But after seeing the pics ... it looks like I am still ok and can bring a few more things before I get rid of them :D

You remind me of my dad: The Mexican Sanford
Hallsville you say? Hmmmmm, I know where that is...
I think the 302 should have gone in the dark RX7 in the first picture and you would have been all set.

I think I'm in love!
In the second picture, to the left of the red Maverick, is that a Fox T-Bird?

We should all post whatever flotsam we have laying around, that may be of use to another GRMer, to prevent a tragedy such as this in the future.

I kinda want that light bar off the top of that p71......
Is that a Bugeye lurking in the shed?
The mustang reminds me a lot of my 1st car, an 86 LX...how much?

No, that is a Cougar...the Fox T-Bird is on the other side of the Torino with the maverick Grabber hood leaning on it.

302 was a blown head gasket from 1985 and I had just rolled my 68 Cougar with the hot rod engine so I just swapped!
The RX-7 was crashed in a ditch and the front end is curled up.

Yup! Got a 62 and a 63 AH behind it.
Mustang is running, driving car. 3rd backup for when I/friend/relative needs a car quick.
As I count I realize that this is less than 1/3 of the cars I have.
About a year ago I got serious about having a proper shop and getting my important projects complete. Sent about a ton of scrap out every couple of weeks for 4 months and didn't even dent the pile. This week has been busting tires off rims. Most rims are scrap but I should offer up the old Datsun or Triumph rims here first.
I will actually try to post a couple of cars in the Classifieds tomorrow.

AMEN!
These should be posted in the $2012 classifieds.
I would have snapped up a 429.
Is that 68 Thunderbird a suicide door car? I have a want for one of those

If it works, me too. I think it would make an awesome addition to a simracing setup.
what is the blue crew cab, behind the cop car?
