Hard to go wrong with the Honda Accord and Civic.
What about a Ford Fusion Sport? No manual but you do get the 325hp 385ftlbs and AWD for about 25K for one with around 30K miles. Plus it looks like a standard every man sedan.
Used G70s with 35K miles get close

@octavious shame you didn't check out the forte. It's a very nice car for about $4k less than the civic.
How many kids are being toted around? How big are they now, and how might that change during your planned decade of ownership?
A decision was made...
My old boss suggested we look at Acura. I almost shot coffee out of my nose when he said it. He persisted so I said we'd look.
With Acura you have to buy the top tier A-spec tech package to get a manual transmission. But we knew we wanted leather and a manual which also put us in the top tier Civic Sport Touring.
Well we obviously ended up with the Acura. But here is why.
- Initial OTD price on the Acura was $1700 more than the Honda Sport Touring with manual.
- Acura has a 4yr/50k mile limited warranty vs 3yr/36k mile in Honda
- Acura has a 6yr/70k mile powertrain vs 5yr/60k mile on Honda
- Acura has limited slip dif
- Acura has more fancy electronic features that I don't understand and probably never will.
- I liked the Acura front and rear bumpers better
- And I liked the Acura front seats better

Yep. You are correct. Bummer but we're now looking at it as an investment. Should still be up and running good when my kids go off to college.
Even at their ages they are waaaaay more comfortable with the technology in the car than I am.
