Don't know if this is a repost, but if not, discuss.
I don't care if it is a re-post .... since I still think the E type is one of, if not the most beautiful car ever ( leave me alone, I'm entitled to my opinion ) this one is just making the perfectly shaped car even better ... I never would have thought I could say that
I'm an E type lover m'self. Most of it's gorgeous, but do NOT like the side 'cutouts' and chrome strakes. The original didn't need it and neither does this.
Not real. Those are photoshops of the F-Type's with a bunch of that latest E-Type handbuilt tribute thing added in.

The CGI design has been around for awhile, actually pre-dating the F-type. Still vaporware until they actually build one, much less 250.
I'm on an E-Type owner's forum and opinions on the design vary from one end of the spectrum to the other. The most criticized items are the headlights and the Corvette-ish coves on the side, which have no place in the "design language" of an E-type, or any Jaguar for that matter. Looks like they came from a Spyker.

you are right ... but I figured these were design exercises and not real cars ... and as someone else posted ... the price will be prohibitive
Pretty but forgettable. That's the problem with following an icon. The original E-type was like a 6-foot scandanavian queen walking around pygmies. There was simply nothing like it. Even the best Italians of the period used an entirely different design language. This one will fit in nicely with the (over?)abundance of exotics nowadays, but it isn't close to being another icon.
i think the designs look nice but they need to do something about the price. i guess they didnt learn anything with the xj220
All the hype with all the space age doodads just don't play well with the design of a new E type.
May I re introduce the Eagle Speedster. This is what should be the "new" E type. Much better than the spacemobiles (that I think look like crap) in the photos at the start of this thread.
Looking again at the photos from the OP and you could have told me those were Austin Martins. The E type needs its own identity and yes it is in the past and that is what makes it really cool. Why I think the Eagle Speedster hits it out of the park as a redesign to the E type. Much more retention of the original car yet with enough modern touches to put it at the top two or three cars on my bucket list cars.

They are not made by Jaguar, so what happened with the XJ220 is moot.
Besides, the lesson learned with the XJ220 was not price, but that you don't show a V12 supercar then equip the production version with a V6 (even if it is a race car TT V6)
