Any way of knowing if that baby runs? That's the cleanest early model I've seen in years. Too bad it isn't in ATL.
it says 'exempt' next to the 49xxx miles meaning true mileage is unknown. could be accurate but might be 149xxx
nice looking car though. theyre on my must own list.
COULD be 49K, but just as easily could be 149K.
I don't know about Wa., but in Fl. if your car is more than 10 years old, you can get it registered as mileage: EXEMPT. I just moved to Fl. from Tn. and the clerk at the DMV insisted on going out in the rain and checking the odo for mileage...even tho I was registering a 14 year old car.
I wonder why someone would go and ruin an early car with that right side mirror? That is an early car,but mine is earlier, and the black interior in mine is far superior although I have a soft spot for the plaid. It would be a good car to buy regardless of the mileage as the early cars are so cool, and simple.
I wish it were not 3000 miles away.
mazda605....the right hand mirror looks like the left hand mirror, so I don't understand your comment. However, the placement of that right hand mirror almost looks like it's too far back on the car to be used by the driver.
Just yesterday, while crusing locally, I found a 1st gen. RX-7 near where I live. It's a newer, "smooth bumper" model in that metallic sky blue color. I would have stopped and looked closer, but folks here have led me to believe that at 6 foot 4 I would not be comfortable behind the wheel. Within about 100 miles of Jacksonville, Fl. I've found 3 or 4 RX-7s, first gen models, and 1 or 2 second gen models...including a convertible. 3rd gen models are also to be found, along with a few RX-8s.
Head room is very good in Rx-7s IF there is not sunroof. With a sunroof I'd say 6' or so is the max.

The early cars(which this is one) had only one mirror on the left side. Part way through the production run these were fixed, but this car never had a passengers side mirror on it when it was delivered. Someone added it for sure.
This is one of the few things that sets the early cars apart from the later 79's. The other things that set them apart is the speaker grille in the dashboard,no map pockets on the door panels, hood prop rod on the right side, and hinged on the hood, and not on the chassis, and a few other small things.
In any other country this car,and mine would be 78's as the were built in early 78(5/78 for mine),and most likely sold in early 78 like mine.

Once I saw the thread title, I figured I'd see you twitching over it shortly thereafter--lol
