It takes some stones to call yourself Mongoose when one of the top drivers is called The Snake. Reminds me of another icon.
I grew up in that era - I had the Hot Wheels cars and track.
The recent movie had a low budget cheesy feel to it but it took me back to that era. He led an interesting life - didn’t he get involved with Shirley Muldowney romantically?

That was the whole schtick - Mcewen and Prudhomme hooked up a deal with Hot Wheels as their sponsor, and they traveled around the country match racing each other. Prudhomme found and restored both the haulers they used back in the day, and they ended up getting sold at one of the Barrett-Jackson auctions a year or two ago.

That was Connie Kalitta who was with Shirley for a while.
I remember watching them match race back in the day. Got a couple Hot Wheels Mongoose/Snake drag race sets as part of the prizes in a contest I won a few years ago. Gave them to Hot Wheels collectors.
