If it's LSD I'll take it
One other axle option to think about, if you don't mind mixing bolt paterns, would be the 8.8" off of the rear of an old Explorer. Fairly stout, good aftermarket, and disk brakes. I was watching an off-road "Jeep" show a few weeks back, and learned that the explorer axle was even a couple inches more narrow than the rear end in my '94 Cherokee (they did the swap, and needed 1" spacers to move the wheels out to the right position). Don't have the numbers (or the old jeep) - but it would certainly be easy to find the info, even if it meant measuring one of the "bazillion" examples out there.

I need a pair of stock opel gt axles
The bigest problem you'll run in to replacing it is the chevette rear has a torque tube. You'll have to fab some sort of 3rd link to control it.
If it were me I'd go with a T code (aka 10 bolt) toyota rear. or a G code from a toyota truck. Yes you'd have to change the bolt pattern. but its easy to do ( after i made the tool.) I can make you a nice T code housing for around $350 with DOM tubes. Aftermarket axles are made by Cone engineering at ~$190 each.

narrow track AMC 20? found in jeep cj's. Not as many options as a d44, but fairly strong when one piece axles are installed. Probably dirt cheap on off-road forums.
