245/35/18 Pilot Super Sport X for the rear of the 135i.

Went to the garage yesterday morning to take the missus to lunch, and the "rear right tire low" notice popped up. Pulled over to the gas station down the street to put air in it, nope, that didn't work and gingerly drove it home.

At least since they are runflats it didn't screw up the wheel. Replaced the driver side rear tire as well since it was about half worn anyway.

Ouch! And here I am putting off buying four new tires for the 325i...for a grand total of $230.

Nail? Or? Wondering why you didn't plug it.

225/40/18 has some reasonable options at least for when I get better summer rubber for the BRZ.

I was under the impression that once you've driven a run-flat in a zero pressure condition, they aren't supposed to be fixed.

Not sure what did it, but it would not hold air period.

$200/tire I don't think is too unreasonable, just poor timing. Saturday was my lady's birthday, so I just shelled out for her to have a spa day, late lunch, then to our local record store to pick some stuff out.

I ran 255/35/18s on the BRZ.

And it's nothing compared to sport bike tires, when I still rode more than a decade ago, $350 for two tires that last 3500 miles.

Pfft - amateurs.

My street car tire needs are more than the GDP of some small countries.  Price out a set of 35-12.5R20 BFG All Terrains (Load Range E of course) and a set of Michelins for a Dodge Viper and get back to me.

Oh I know. I'm ok with it.

Just hoping the $10k transmission doesn't take a poo while I own it. smiley

If it makes you feel better, I bet you lost many times that today in your 401k/IRA.

Hahaha, no, it doesn't. My first round of RSU's vest today. Not the best time for the market to be down.

I feel your pain.  Last weekend I was sure the noise coming from the front of my work truck F350 was a wheel bearing.  $350 later, noise is still there.  Don't know what the noise is, but I'm going to drive it until something breaks.  Then I'll know for sure where the noise is coming from.

Over the weekend, I bought a set of C5 Z06 replicas 17x9.5 and 18x10.5 wheels from Craigslist for $250 for my C4 Corvette... Sweet deal... Called around tire shops for pricing on  a pair of 275/40/17 and a pair of 295/35/18...holy crap $$$$... Some of the shops I called couldn't find those sizes or wouldn't even bother ordering them or will take forever. So off to the interwebs and the cheapest matching set I found was on ebay for Mickey Thompson street comp for $757.10 free shipping to my door by Friday. Not the best tire but better than some generic brand like Saffiro or Lionheart or whatever. But still have to have them mounted.

I in my driving life had never had a flat as soon as I bought my 335 they began coming swift and fast I have no idea why but these cars seem to take a lot of tire damage.

I think this was the first flat tire I've had since owning a sportbike, and those seemed to happen frequently.

My 370 would go through Pilot Sports on the rear at an alarming rate.  They are indeed expensive.

I suspect this pudgy car with a torque monster of an engine will also make quick work of the rear tires.

Sorry to hear it.  If it’s any consolation, it took only 24hrs for my 19month old daughter to feed her $100 glasses to the 16 week old Dane puppy we brought home for her... I didn’t expect a long life but 24hrs seemed like shenanigans...
