My project car // fix-and-flip sentra has apparently achieved lawn ornament status. Yesterday, two kids knocked on my door asking if it was for sale... and this morning, found a note and phone number from someone else. Sigh, they're probably right - time to move on.
Side note - getting a little creeped out about strangers inviting themselves up my driveway...
I've had like three groups come up and want to buy my truck.
Last group was three creepy old guys, my wife was home alone.
I had enough people want to buy my 70 Chevelle I finally sold it to one. There have been a few times I've regretted, but if it was in my yard it would still be rotting away. At least it's getting some loving now.
Absolutely sell it to an enthusiast and put the money into something you will enjoy more. I did this with my E30 and it was something I should have done at least a year earlier than I did.
Yeah, I know, its time to move on. It is a weird coincidence though - two days in a row, different people showing interest. I thought I lived on a pretty quiet street. Hmm.
Do it before it gets stolen?
I still have the car and have actually been making slow progress towards completion. What would a 211k mile 01 Sentra SE fetch on the market these days? I'm having a real hard time assigning a price to this thing.
Was it this guy? I wouldn't be too unhappy if this guy wants my car.

Working under the assumption that it's in "clean" shape and has some options, Edmunds shows it as being $900 dealer trade-in and $1600 for private party sale. And that's in my area (DC) where everything is overvalued. Probably less if you're out someplace else.
I've found Edmunds to be the closest of the online calculators to what things actually sell for. YMMV
I had some crack head bust the locking gas cap off of my '66 dodge truck a while back and siphon off the gas tank. I posted a sign in the window that read: "If you need some gas, please knock on my front door and ask- I'd gladly give you some gas so I don't have to replace my gas cap again."
Since I posted the sign, I've had four people stop by (that I know of) to see if it was for sale. One person was riding a horse.
I'm not interested in selling, and since my house is right by the road, I don't mind people pulling in to read the sign. Everyone I've talked to has been nice and I've had some nice discussion with other members in my community. It's also nice to know that I could easily sell the thing if I wanted to!

Ven if it isn't really for sale put a For Sale sign in it, with your mobile number. Maybe add a note saying calls only. That way you may minimize the interference your wife has to run.
You can always ask for a super high sale price.
It was not The Count. That would have been awesome, and I would have sold it on the spot, Brother.
Thanks Irish for the sanity check. Good to know Edmunds tends to be pretty accurate. It will help to keep my spending in check as I finish up this project.
