I've been thinking about diving in and buying some good OBD2 editing software like EFI live.

Suggestions for some good ones? Do you buy the software and then buy licenses per VIN? Any such thing as open source for something this complex?

Heres a link to one I want to buy but just can't pull the trigger... http://www.hptuners.com/articles/060505/ It's the only one that will do my 05 Cobalt SS. The local dealer re-flashed my car in 07 to fix what was later found to be a crack in the CAT and ever since the re-flash it has a tiny, tiny bog at 2500 RPM it drives me nuts. Someday i'll find some one with it allready and just buy the vin credits to use it.

+1 for hptuners. I had it for my 99 Camaro Z28 (LS1) and was impressed with the capabilities, ease of use, support, etc. Sold it when I sold the car.

At the time, early 2000's, I could not find anything open source that would come close to the capabilities of hptuners or EFI live that would interface with the factory computer.
