If you and I were 1000 miles closer to each other I would be your venture capitalist in this project today. Sadly, much geography separates us. I was looking at a CL Volvo 245 with a 5.0 5 speed swap already done for challenge money just the other day. Ran when parked, intake manifold currently off....... I couldn't convince myself to go look at it.

I don't understand this statement, How does Jag good looks - jag craptacular reliability + cheap reliable 'murican horsepower not equal Charlie sheen levels of winning?

I wasted all of my money when I was in high school on Jags. I was never left stranded, and never had a mechanical problem with anything in the driveline - ZF 4 speeds include.

There's nothing wrong with the Jaguar engine, and, personally, I prefer them to a domestic V8. To each his own, though.
