Not sure the last time I saw one of these. Sorry about the cell pics, its all I had.

The owner spotted me taking the pictures and came out to talk to me. Nice young guy with a cool car. I want one now....

Oh my. 2nd gen coupe. HAWT.

I used to hate the 2nd gen. I've come around in the last year. I REALLY REALLY want a 2nd gen coupe.

Was this the owners way of adding "rice" to his Toyota?

Snipes, did the car you saw have the rectangle or the round headlights?

I used to have a hatchback of around that year. It was a fun car, if a bit crude... I sold it to a forumgoer here but I have no idea what happened to it after that.

My old bruiser: More pics

Always thought the coupes looked nicer.

You have to log in to view this forum, but here's one for sale in Calgary. I'll just parrot the pics over here:

I've never liked the 2nd gens... but I did have a 1st gen liftback for a while. That car was sexy, but gutless, and ultimately I got rid of it because I couldn't stand the motor, and being in california made it a real PITA to swap in anything cool.

I personally would rather have a Mk1 Supra....5 extra inches of space for more cylinders = Win.

I had a 2nd gen liftback with a hot 22R in it.

Put lotsa miles on that car and loved it. Too bad she rotted away in the end.

Still have the body badges though.

The Puerto Rican flag is fitting...the island dudes up the street from me have a ridiculous turbo'd E70 Corolla!

I had one of those until my buddy rolled. Coupe too. Actually, for the year I much prefer the 3tc powered Corrolla.

Here is an '80 supra next to my old 83 celica gt-s. The supra only had 94k on it at the time. I also had a 78 celica hatch back in highschool.

I miss seeing those things on the road. They were everywhere.

I've been building an olde kewl E7 Corolla.... 4AG powered, Lexus Diamond pearl paint, FOHA spoilers at both ends, and maybe, with a bit of luck, a 6 speed(still being developed)

It isn't quite yet finished... but it should be real soon.

Is the six speed you're talking about the one that uses the mazda 6-speed internals in a housing that bolts up to the A-block?

I'm guessing adapter plate or sectioned bellhousing. Either way, I'd love to see pictures of that process!

My sister had one of these (that tells you something right there). When she bought it, it was with the condition the dealer change the color from that bright yellow (a color I like) to a bright blue. Her car had the auto option and driving it was....well, nothing special. Could have been the transmissions fault. Just a very blah sort of car...yet it looked nice.
