Is it possible to obtain copies of sanctioning body competition rule books from many years ago, i.e. SCCA circa 1975 or NASCAR circa 1967?

I don't know if it helps, but I have a copy of my Dad's SCCA rulebook from '74 or '76 or thereabouts.

I'm certain that SCCA's historical preservation group would have that, I'm not sure how to contact them, though.  I just remember reading about it in SportsCar..

That's VERY helpful.  Thank you, David.

In reply to stroker :

SCCA publishes a vintage rule book with all.of the years David listed. I bought a copy years ago. I keep it in the van so I have it at the vintage races.

And it's cool to see how simple things were. I have a few old SCCA rule books: road racing, Solo, rally. They're about pocket-size.

Somewhere I have a PDF I downloaded for the IMSA rules circa 1984 or so. I wish the big sanctioning bodies would make an effort to archive that sort of thing in an easily accessible manner. I don't know where I found it, probably some sketchy website after it was scanned and uploaded by an old racer who found it in his attic or something.

It would be cool to see an IMSA rule book from the GTP/GTO/GTU era. We have a few old rule books back at the office, but I can't remember if IMSA in part of that collection.
