Game on?
Two minutes in the box for making us wait until 2013!
i really expected you to get a 4cylinder auto version for this piece. wasn't it supposed to be in the spirit of working with what ya got rather than buying something that's better in the first place?

He just happens to have a v6 5speed Camry.
We went back and forth on that, but then decided that crap, this is entertainment, not cancer-curing, so screw it, give the Camry a fighting chance. And I found two on our local craigslist.
I've been looking at BMW's but have now also looked at v6 manual Camry's. I kinda want to punch myself but it would be cheap fun. Stalk GRM by copying their project car.
So, like many of you guys, I was intrigued by this. And as dumb luck would have it, two days prior to reading the article, I had bought a well maintained '02 Lexus ES300, one owner, 163,000 miles from a close friend. I think this flavor was only available in an auto trans.
So, I called GRM to volunteer my car as a test mule. I was told, by the nice lady who answered, that GRM has just bought the project car. I also have the good fortune of unlimited track time. So, if you guys want me to test any components (though I don't think any would fit on my car), please let me know.
Good luck with the project.
ES300s were available with manuals for at least one year (the first) and maybe more, but they were rare, and then they were discontinued. I'd happily DD one. I actually like the Es300 pretty well.
Saw the latest blog update on the Camry. One question.
It was an easy place to mount it---no cutting or anything. There's not a whole lot of room in the regular engine compartment.
Dumb question, but what exactly is the benefit of having an oil accumulator? I've never seen one installed so I have no clue.
Ahh good to know for future reference. If the 1MZ has known oiling issues, I can see how this could help.
