An attractive option. How's the highway economy on those? Think if I decide to ditch it at the end of the "trip" I could get a quick sale out in the southwest?
Southwest is big into slab sided car culture. You'd be able to dump a big body ford in no time.

Yeah, I'd be ditching around Vegas so I figure I can pass it off on a snowbird or Donk it out real quick ;)

If you stay out of it, it will get 27-29mpg on the freeway. P71s will get lower with the higher gears.

My anecdotal evidence says 25ish on the freeway.

In reply to mtn:

I have the 2.73 in my GMQ and doing about 67 I was able to maintain it at 28/29, but I was really taking it easy. With more spirited driving, 26-27 is the norm.

Throw some pawn shop 24's in the trunk, slap em on when you get there, and sail.

4th gen Maxima. Comfortable for long trips (I just drove mine from Va Beach to KC, MO), good highway mileage (28-30, although I have gotten 32 before), reliable, decent aftermarket if you so choose, available with a 5 spd, and every example has the awesome 3.0 V6.

I like the panther and 4th gen maxima ideas most.

Its an auto, so the mileage wont be spectacular, but should get low to mid 30s on the highway without issue.

Accord LXi hatchback. Cheap, great seats, good highway mpg, lots of cargo space, A/C and cruise, rock reliable, easy to sell and/or ditch.

I think the panther platform is calling to me. All of this is subject to whatever is available at the time I need it of course. If any St Louis area folks happen to see a good candidate around June 2014 I could do a fly and drive from there :)

If I save a few days drive on the front end then I could possibly have the time to drive it home after I hit Vegas.

3g accord hatch FTW. The 3g accord holds a special place in my heart among accords. Ive had 3 sedans and would own another.
