"The car is in good enough shape to be towed anywhere."
Before clicking the link, reply with your guess of the car. Your only hint is the comment above means that it's actually in quite good condition of the model vehicle.

Being baltimore, I woulda said box chevy, not that.
$10k, he's lost his mind! $10 dollars...maybe....
BiTurbo?
Edit after opening link: Close enough.
At 14k miles, it just proves that there was never really a time that it ran well.
It is extremely rare to see one of these with more than 50k miles.
How the heck do you end up with a car in this state after 14k miles?

Start with anything Italian and exotic. The rest takes care of itself.
This looks like one of those situations where the wife wants it sold and the guy does not. The wording in the add is such that the wife will think it's in good faith with the magazine article cited. The wife knows he has more than the 10k in the car, so she wont see it as a preposterous ask.

$10,000 and journalists ragged on it? [That's what we called it in 1986; "hooning" hadn't been coined yet.]
David
i wonder if he knows that there is an extra zero on his asking price?
Can't say I was surprised when I saw what the car was either. I have actually driven a car almost exactly like that one (but had been repainted to an ugly gold color and had about 5 times the miles). It was for sale for $2800 and still took over 6 months to sell. It wasn't terrible, but seemed sorta boring for how much the parts cost. I still kinda want one though, if I had the chance to get one cheap and an empty parking space id be tempted to buy a cheap one that still ran.
Lotus Europa? I've never seen a running one...
EDIT: Nope. Of course, I've never seen a running one of THOSE either...

I have seen 3 running biturbos (425, 430 and spider) but the only running Europa had a Buick v6 in it though.
Sad. I had a chance at one of these in nice shape a few years back. I'm mostly glad it didn't happen.

Mostly glad? Be totally glad! You my friend have passed go and collected $200!!
In reply to Feedyurhed: I know, I know. It was really nice though. Don't worry, I have other italian problems now, in the form of an x1/9.
I guessed Fiat, then changed my mind to Lancia. At least I guessed the right country of origin.
Pre-view guess: Porsche 356 just good enough to take a VIN plate off of.
Edit: Oh that was a disappointment in so many different ways.
"Engine was running as of sept. 2013"
Making it the only possibly running one in existence.
