The wife's old Sedona van left home permanently this morning:
We sold it to Carvana for almost twice what the dealer was offering as trade-in value. It's been a great, reliable workhorse for the last 10 years, but we no longer need something that large. Here's what we replaced it with:
Gorgeous, huh?
It doesn't look like you can take the roof off that one.

There hasn't been a "new K5" Blazer since 1994.
While the new whip is nice looking, it is not the K5 I was hoping for.
So you got the GT Line? FWD or AWD? Did you try out the GT? Enjoy the new car.

And some would say the world is poorer for that. Nice car, wish they kept calling it Optima, it should serve you well.

Since it's for the wife, we didn't need the GT, and since we're in Florida, no need for AWD. (Ironic I should say that after touting the joys of my AWD Focus RS all these years, but that's for a different audience.) And there's no trying anything these days; not a single new car on the lot, not even in the showroom.

Turns out the Optima has been called the K5 everywhere else in the world all along.
Congrats! I really like the K5, and have put roughly 1,500 miles on two of 'em now for the sake of reviews. Drove an EX from DC to Charlotte and back, and pulled some fantastic MPG out of the car. Seats seem to be a love or hate thing, the Highway Driving Assist tech is superb, and it's a good looking car in general. Should treat you well.
The GT is fun(er) because it's fast(er) but they put all-seasons on it and give it an open diff. Torque steer is never-ending. The "slower" models have to work harder but are a little easier to live with day to day.

Still closer to the original K5 than what Chevy currently calls a Blazer.
In reply to jstein77 :
Also, they're really attractive cars that are also one of the very few modern cars that screams out to have aftermarket wheels added to them.
Tirerack's builder doesn't have white, but...
Options are abound.
No Blazer, click bait LOL.
Missing the old K5 Blazer, that was a cool one. This is still cool, just not the droid I was looking for
These are beautiful cars.

They really are (once the machines and black wheels are jettisoned) they have an Audi A5/A7 look to them without the headache and not being as retrained and teutonic.
My buddy's '78 K5 had a 31 gallon gas tank.
He'd pick me up with a 1/64 full tank to go out. I'm sure these new K5's get better mileage.
I am kinda mad at Huyndai on this one. The Elantra N has all the racy bits, but looks like an ugly version of the Pontiac Aztec. The K5 is gorgeous and has big HP, but gets an open diff. They made the wrong one a GT car, the K5 should have been the sports car version.

The K5 is bigger than the Elantra right?
K5 = Sonata
Forte = Elantra

Correct - The Forte/Elantra are compacts; the Sonata/K5 are midsized.
And in my opinion, the K5 is much nicer looking than the droopy Sonata. It looks kinda sad.
