They work on Datsun very well. I would always win night autocross events.

I think some of those would go nicely on a certain challenge car. laugh

Way back when I may have mentioned my first car was a '74 Corolla similar to your challenge car.  Sadly it was a 4 door with a 2TC and a 2 speed (!) automatic but it was mine and I drove the wheels off of it for 4 years and sold it it for quite a bit more than I had paid for it.  And yes, it had a set of yellow fog lights that I installed hanging under the front bumper as was the style in the day.

Unpopular opinion...

The Hella 500s look cool but the light pattern sucks if you enjoy cornering.

I had a pair for night rallycrosses, and I installed them cross-eyed so they would throw light into the corner while the car was crossed up.  They still sucked.

Editing a video from IMSA testing at Daytona last weekend and found this shot. Yup they even work on a Taylor-Dunn.

It’s perfect.

When I was a kid I always thought a proper car was not complete without some driving lights.

Don't forget to gear up the tow rig for those early morning/late night drives to/from the track...

There is a set of Hella driving lamps ($6)going on the Challenge Corolla. It gets real dark after the finish line in Gainesville.

That's why the Jeep ended up with 4 lights on it.  The IPF 968s are a wider pattern than the Euro / driving beam Hellas.  And they're angled slightly outward.  Better light around corners and better view of deer approaching the side of the road in open fields.

I met my step-mom over the weekend and she gave me a couple cameras and some photo albums.  My dad passed away last year, she's moving, we weren't close.

Along with family stuff she included a couple photos of the car that got me into the SCCA as an adult.  His 1974 Opel Manta Rally with the big Cibie lights on the front.
