Just pulled into my garage turned off the car then tried to restart because this car is blocking my wife's car. It will crank but not start. Code is P0125 insufficient coolant temperature for closed loop fuel control. 2003 SVT Focus 75k. Been driving fine but every once in a while it would die idling then start no problem. Right now it is dead and blocking the running car. I could see how coolant sensor could cause crummy running, but why no start?
More info. When the car didn't start I did a quick search and some info suggested bad engine coolant sensor or thermostat stuck open. With the scanner I found what I think is the engine temp - ECM was at 175 soon after no start. I checked 30 minutes later and the value was 145. That leads me to believe the sensor is probably working. 175 degrees sounds low for a warm engine with a working thermostat, but maybe my 10 minute ride was too short to warm up. I still don't get the no start thing. I am going to try again in the morning after all cools down.
Is the code new or has it been present before the no start?
New code. Never thrown before.
