Pete had one reciently, but I think he sold it to get his miata. It's just aht Pete seems to know where these things are.

I Do have a '83/'84 GTI that I run in Detroit SCCA solo2 STS class & I am looking to sell it in the future, but I don't think I can right now. Like most, $ is tight for me & I can't afford to by a newer dedicated race car. And even though I have a '92 8V GTI that I'd like to try in STS, I'm still looking at trying something different like a 2nd gen MR2 or a Miata. The trouble is trying to find 1 in good shape that I can afford. I also am fixing a no fuel pressure problem on the '83 GTI right now. The car is nice, but not super special, but it is clean & comes with a host of spare parts including doors, bumpers, hatch, interior, 3 seats, good trans, & an engine that was in other GTI that I rolled (the bearings got swipped, but it still ran, but needs rebuild). It did win the Detroit STS championship (only by 6 points) last year, but with a better suspension set-up, it should be very competative if that's what you wanted to do. If I was made an offer that I couldn't refuse, than I'd sadly, proably have to let it go. Just a thought.

Also, I live around Lansing, Mi. (if location is a big factor?) For pictures, look on Detroit SCCA web page, there's several pictures from events earlier this year & last year in there solo pictures section.
