I had the Mazda B2000 for absolutely years and loved it. Never gave me a bit of trouble and had a big enough bed that I could haul some big and heavy stuff.

I agree that the courier brakes did suck, but could be swapped with disc from the REPU or later B2000. I personally want an REPU too, but he had commented that the looks were not what he was looking for. The only problem I had was due to my abuse to the truck and a 16 year old trying to go as fast as possible in a 4 speed was an issue.

Now there's one I would never have thought of -- that Courier is an interesting possibility.

The rampside Corvair probably out-quirks a REPU. Another interesting choice.

Thanks for all the good suggestions. There were quite a few I hadn't thought of -- the VWs, Ford econoline and courier, Dodge A100 -- and some good insights on ones I had.
