So I'm buying pieces and parts for the Monster, it didn't come with everything needed to put it together. One of the missing bit is a starter.  2000 Explorer 302 block bolted to a T-5 trans wedged into a Miata.  I went to Amazon to order one but they run from $38-$160 and since it's a critter that never was factory..... you get the idea.  So, holders of all esoteric knowledge, can someone help a brother out and link me to the one I need?  Cheaper is obviously better but quality is even more important, I don't want to have to mess with this thing again once I get it together.  Gracias!

The starter needs to match the flywheel and bellhousing.

No, it doesn’t, or at least with more modern fords. Old wives tale that won’t die.

In reply to KyAllroad (Jeremy) :

That’s all the info you need to get a new starter. I plugged it into rockauto and saw a new one available for 52$.

Ultra-POwer 3268N?

Never used Rock Auto.  And there are still a couple dozen choices.  Are you saying any of them will work?

You'll need to log in to post.
