Hey all, when I walked in the garage today there was a puddle of oil. My wife had already left for work so I went and looked at her car. There is oil covering the trans side of the engine and appears to be coming from under the intake. It’s a 2014 Town & Country and I don’t see any return lines or anything under there that would cause this issue. If you have access to a parts break down could you see if there is something under the intake between the heads that could leak oil? She can’t drive my car so I’ll have to wait til she is done working to get it apart.

I GRM’d it first and should have googled... common problem caused by a failed oil filter housing/oil cooler unit. Thanks for your help!

Beat me to it, was typing it up before I got distracted.

Usually from the last oil change if the o-ring wasn't replaced. It leaks slowly and fills the entire valley between the heads before it starts pouring onto the trans bellhousing area.

I've yet to see the cooler or housing adapter assembly leak on it's own, but I wouldn't doubt that many dealers or oil change shops blame it on those to save face and make some money in the process.

If you DO pull it off to replace or whatever, do yourself a favor and replace the oil pressure sensor as a preventative maintenance thing. They are insanely common to fail, and cheap for the part itself.

The valley was definitely a mess, I used two oil soaks to clean it up. There were no oil traces on the tube and one of the mounting rings/gaskets was torn so it was the cooler. It came with new sensors. $285 and two hours later...
